This unique role highlights the transformation that can occur when one embraces sonship and breaks free from the orphan spirit. We will explore the various tests and challenges that David faced, and how he overcame them to fulfill God's purposes. We will see how he learned to run to the Father instead of hiding, and how he embraced grace and mercy instead of preserving himself. Each of us may still struggle with residue from our past, with moments where we act like orphans instead of sons and daughters. But the good news is that God has transferred us out of darkness and made us His children. We are no longer orphans, but sons and daughters of a loving Father.
