How can you keep your faith through impossible circumstances?
I recently watched an award-winning movie and it got me thinking about how long I could keep my faith alive and trust that God could perform a miracle.
I think of our circumstances in our time. We feel completely smothered in our pain or situation. Not being able to breathe or have hope. I coach some people who feel that way. We never know what our threshold is until we are in it. As I have walked through immense grief these last few months (and still am walking through it!) it seems as if I can’t do it anymore, but God gives me a strength I couldn’t possibly do on my own.
Some tips when your life is feeling overwhelming:
- When things seem impossible, look for the possible. You might be surprised at how strong you can be.
- Can you depend on friends to support you? Some of that strength comes in the form of friends constantly reaching out and holding your broken or hopeless heart well. They won’t have all the answers, but they can walk beside you and hold you up.
- Don’t be afraid to pray for a miracle. Ultimately, it’s God’s will but He doesn’t mind us asking. We will accept the path He gives us, even if it’s not the way we want it. We don’t see what He sees and knows. Keep trusting.
We have a choice to live fully alive and trust God loves us and wants the best for us, or we can feel defeated every day. The choice is how we live it out.
