Episode 20 - Pete Schwier - Songwriting For Songwriters Podcast

Pete is a producer, mixing and recording engineer with over 40 years of experience in the music industry. He has worked on some of the most loved records of our time and most recently on 'The Feminine Divine' by Dexys.

Pete began his career at Mickie Most’s RAK Studios. As a Tape Op/House Engineer he worked on albums with: Yes, The Who, Thin Lizzy, Paul McCartney and Wings, Gallagher and Lyle, Buggles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Supertramp, The Pretenders, The Police, Dire Straits, Hot Chocolate, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Psychedelic Furs, The Jam, Suzi Quatro and Kim Wilde.

After going freelance in 1982 to work with Alex Sadkin on Duran Duran’s Seven and the Ragged Tiger, he then went on to become part of Trevor Horn’s production Team until 1991.

Pete was then managed by Annie Holloway's The Producers 1991-2001.

He has gained a wealth of experience from working with producers including Trevor Horn, George Martin, Steve Lillywhite, Glynn Johns, John Leckie, Alex Sadkin, Mickie Most, Tom Dowd, Ricki Wilde, Steve Lipson,”BT”, Vic Smith, Pascal Gabriel, Nick Patrick and Don Reedman.

Pete has recorded and mixed seven #1 albums in the last five years.
