Flower Service
The service will be led by Rev. Linda Lawrence and church member Terry Zapotocky. The service is multi-generational so the children will participate in the service, and there will be no separate children’s religious education. We will learn about the origin and meaning of the Flower Celebration or Communion, 1st created by Norbert F. Capek in Prague in 1923. To celebrate May Day, the children will do a Maypole dance. They will also make baskets filled with flowers that they will create. This will be a joyous and colorful service to celebrate 1st day of May.
If you have them available, please bring a flower or flowers for the Communion. Flowers to share are appreciated as many of our members don’t have gardens. And do come regardless of whether you have a flower; there always seem to be an abundance of flowers for everyone.
