• INTRO - Welcome to the only show of it's kind - we play rock bands acoustic shit - yada yada - a lot of people believe that ROCK MUSIC began on TODAY back in 1955. Chuck berry recorded MAYBELLINE in Chicago. It was released as a single in July and it topped the US BILLBOARD R&B chart while on the pop chart if peaked at number 5. It was his first hit, and many musical historians claim this is the song that started everything. So hey, Mr. Berry, if you're up there - THANK YOU BUDDY! Let's get this show started with one of the biggest rock bands to ever do it - possibly THE biggest band to ever do it - METALLLLLICAAAAAAA.

• TALK - That was Three Days Grace. That song was their first #1 hit on Alt and Rock radio in 2004. That song is almost 20 years old. Are you kidding me? I adore that band. Soooooooooo I got in to a debate this week with the fans of the show on my Facebook. I said, "Jelly roll is the redneck version of Chris Cornell." Ohhhhhhhhhh that just set everyone in to a flippin' tizzzzzy. Okay here's why, partly, I say that - if you ask Jellyroll how he writes music, here is what he says. PLAY AUDIO -------- and so did Chris Cornell. My Wife introduced me to this song, and I can relate a lot to it - and it MAN it truly touches me, and I thought you guys would like it. I hope it touches someone out there today.

Rival Sons are often compared to sounds of the 1970s yet they cite Prince, D'Angelo and The Roots as influences alongside Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.[39] Jay has listed artists from Joni Mitchell to Sly and the Family Stone amongst his influences, often stating Van Morrison as one of his heroes. "I can't overstate his influence on me as a writer and vocalist" -------- Ya know since I do this show, every week I listen to SO much music, and it's crazy how often Corey Taylor keeps coming up while I'm looking. He's an amazing song writer who totally doesn't get enough credit. In the news this past week, David Draiman elluded to almost taking his own life a few months ago. I'll play you the audio of that and we'll of course do some disturbed. Alright this week there was some pretty big rock news, and it's about David Draiman from Disturbed. He said this at the end of the show - AUDIO - I rifled through a bunch of interviews with him and he says he has never done anything but weed. He loves weed. So if his statement wasn't about drugs - then it's the other thing, depression and suicide. Ya know, I've said it on this show so so many times, because I love you, if you are suffering with depression, it isn't weak to put your hand out and ask for help.
