John 17:15-16 I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but to protect them from the evil one. They don’t belong to this world any more than I do.
We have been given a beautiful world, but we have turned it upside down because we consistently choose to trust our own knowledge and wisdom over God's. With our help, Satan continues to drive this world further into darkness. However, Jesus does not want us to be taken out of this world, at least not yet. Therefore, there must be something left for us to do while we are here. It is not pursuing our own ideas and desires, as they are the reason we are morally bankrupt and at the brink of being completely swallowed by evil.
Our purpose while we are here is to do the best we can to reveal God to each other through the way we live. Through Christ, we can be the light of the world, like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. We should help each other climb out of the pit of darkness and despair. In this way, we can get back on track and walk the path that leads to eternal life.
