Is Competition Becoming Too Friendly?
Manage episode 358595708 series 3043068
Has competition at the elite levels become too friendly? Is there not enough of a “workers” mentality in sports anymore?
We have all heard the criticisms of professional athletes and their effort when it comes to games. That age-old comment of “This guy gets paid how much? To do what, sit there? I can do what they’re doing!”In reality, the public does not see the countless hours of work that they put in during the week. The ice baths, the long hours in the gym, and the work that goes in behind the scenes to prepare for game day.
High-performers whether it be in sports or business are solely judged on “GAME DAY”. If they do not look the part, have poor body language, or are seen being “friendly” with their competitors, the public notices that and the criticisms follow.
This week on the Difference Maker Podcast, we asked this question and aimed to start a conversation around this topic. We want to know what you think of this.
