Episode 396: Mercury Rising
Manage episode 436480985 series 82224
This is the 396th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). The previous couple of shows have been built around interviews, and I was hoping to do a third interview-focused show in a row, but I wasn’t able to get that sorted out in time, so hopefully it’ll happen at a later date. Instead, on this show, I’m going to focus on this year’s Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’. So, instead of one feature album, we’ll have two tracks each from four of the Mercury Prize nominated albums scattered throughout the playlist. In addition, you can expect a typically excellent and eclectic range of music, covering all the usual styles and genres, including returns to our Cats’ Corner, Prog Magazine, and 80s features. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Thanks to all the musicians who contributed to this show, and to all listeners. Send us comments if you like what you hear (or even if you don’t… feedback is so important!). If you want to keep up to date with news about the show, EppyFest, or just chat with other listeners, don’t forget that there’s a Facebook group – just search for the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Show on Facebook and request to join, plus don’t forget that we’re part of the Progzilla Radio Network. I haven’t quite decided what the focus of the next show will be, but I have a few irons in the fire, so I hope you’ll join me for whatever I settle on in around two weeks’ time.
