Adventism has been plagued with various factions throughout its history with none so prominent as the terms ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’. ‘Orthodox’ and ‘progressive’ and other labels that have been used, sometimes in a derogatory fashion and sometimes as a badge of honour. Dr. Michael Campbell, unpacks the history of the 1919 Bible Conference, which played a huge, but often understated role in some of these issues in our church today.
