Manage episode 347803324 series 3418983
Louie Aguiar spent 10 years as a punter in the NFL, including half that time spent with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was dedicated to his craft that gave him the opportunity to call himself a Professional Football Player. Louie tells some great stories about his days with the Chiefs, Jets, Packers & Bears. But most of his favorite memories come from his days with the Kansas City Chiefs, including his infamous "Fake Punt Pass" to Kevin Lockett against the Seattle Seahawks. Louie talks about his relationships with Derrick Thomas and Marty Schottenheimer, along with experiences with former players, Nick Lowery, Neil Smith, Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Tim Grundhard, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac and more...including one of the most hated individuals in Kansas City sports history, place kicker Lin Elliott. Louie talks about his fight with testicular cancer, pancreatitis and 2 back surgeries. But on this podcast and for the first time ever, Louie speaks publicly about his battle with depression, 2 close attempts to suicide and how he's been working to overcome the dark, uncontrollable emotions. This is a MUST listen for all NFL football fans and most certainly for Kansas City Chiefs fans and anyone battling depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation. We laughed A LOT in the episode but we also cried. Watch this episode on Spotify or YouTube and see all of Louie's funny facial expressions, mannerisms and raw emotional moments.
