"Hate the Club"
Manage episode 317179470 series 3266947
Kehlani got robbed of a great summer wave. When she dropped her sophomore LP It Was Good Until It Wasn't in 2020, many listeners had to listen to the album from home due to the CoVid-19 outbreak. However, not only did have an album that supplied a surplus of music gems that could fit a playlist for the whip or the bedroom, many of the relatable tracks opened up about the Oakland singer's personal life as she continued to pave her way into making music at the highest level. With production from Jake One, Boi-Ida, and The Rascals, the album had the potential of contributing to R&B's revival thanks to the variety of artists blending the genre.
With a baller-ass sportswriter like Rhiannon Walker joining Vance and Ahmad this week, you know you're going to be in for a treat. The three choose their favorite songs from the project, talk about hating the club (specifically being there for a significant other), why Tory Lanez is a certified-fuccboi, and why It Was Good Until It Wasn't needs to be the album of summer situationships in 2021 as Kehlani.
