Thank you all for returning to the show! This week we are starting our new series called “The New Sound” where we will be discussing new and emerging hip hop artists. If you are a fan of hip hop inspired artists you'll surely enjoy this series. Today's we discuss Prefuse 73.

Born Guillermo Scott Herren born in Miami is of Irish and Cuban descent. And began his DJ in career at a club called MJQ in Atlanta. Then begin working in commercial studios working with Southern wrappers. He moved to New York to go to college which is when he released his first release Sleep Method Suite under the name Delarosa & Asora in 1997. We pick up with Prefuse 73 in 2001, when he released who Is critically acclaimed Vocal Studies and Uprock Narratives one year later he released a four track EP called 92 vs. 02 Collection.

Honestly the guy is one of those hidden gems. He has over 40 releases under various aliases and including some production credits for HellFyre Club’s Busdriver and a remix for Daedelus (featured).
