Season Alpha: Ep. 8 - 60 Years of Shrewsbury Samaritans.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the 60th anniversary of the Samaritans in Shrewsbury by Claire Oulton. This was a fantastic opportunity to speak to so many people that had contributed to The Samaritans on many different levels, some for many years.
The first half of this episode is a 30 min sit-down with Claire, Angie and director Lauren. The conversation was about what the Samaritans of Shrewsbury offer as a service, how these amazing people go about their jobs and conduct themselves in a safe and sustainable way.
The second half was recorded as people were walking into the party. I spent a bit of time speaking to people with interesting stories. The goal was to understand if and how the landscape for what The Samaritans do to help and the reason why people needs help may have changed in the last 60 years. You may be surprised at the results.
