The time has finally come to read the best-selling comic book of all time! This week, we read and discussed X-Men (1991) #1-3 "Rubicon", a story about a lot of things and also nothing. This story concludes Chris Claremont's iconic run of X-Men, and contains great character exploration of Magneto as well as an introduction to the structure of the X-Men for most of the 90s, where artists and writers like Jim Lee and Scott Lobdell would take the reins. While a bit frenetic and confused, it is a fun read that is well worth the time. And apparently millions of fans thought so too with over 4 million copies of the #1 issue sold, making it far and away the best-selling comic book issue of all time.
Veronica's theme for this season is stories from the DC Graphic Novels for Young Adults imprint. Monte's theme is the five top-selling superhero comic books of all time.
The comic lineup for Season 12 was:
Superman Smashes the Klan
Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #1-6
You Brought Me the Ocean
Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) #1-7
Shadow of the Batgirl
Batman: The 10-Cent Adventure
Nubia: Real One
Fantastic Four (2002) #60
Galaxy: The Prettiest Star
X-Men (1991) #1-3
