In the first of three Coetzer episodes in a row, Shaun Coetzer joins Jack Mitchell on the podcast this week as these two ex-SDCC captains talk through their careers.
They talk about growing up playing cricket: Jack at Huntly and Shaun at SDCC. They then go on to discuss why they decided to leave their home town clubs to go onto bigger and better things in cricket before returning to their roots at different points in their careers.
We also discuss the last 5 years at Stoneywood Dyce. A 5 years like no other in our history. From the lows of relegation in 2016 to the highs of promotion in 2018 and reaching the Scottish Cup semi finals in 2019 it has been a real roller coaster ride. These two have been pivotal in the eventual success over this time.
Jack discusses what it was like playing with Pakistani international Azhar Ali at Huntly as well as playing for the Caledonian Highlanders in 2019.
Shaun talks about growing up in a cricket mad family, playing with Kyle in Cape Town and how he has his eyes on an over 50 World Cup spot in 10 years time!
