Aliens. They’ve not just passed their junior high space travel class, it seems they’ve got some marketing sensibilities as well. So, we’re talking both shop class and FBLA (look it up folks). Mike is out for this one (we all have our limits). Jon and Tom seem to start out relatively focused, but you know how it goes. We discuss the term UAP versus UFO, Project Blue Book, NASA involvement in the search for alien life, intelligent versus other aliens, something called astrobiology, SETI, planets outside our solar system being obviously no big deal, difficulty walking on a planet with three times the mass, prevalence of UAP and UFO terms over time, Air Force saying there is nothing to see here, government catalog record metadata in terms of volume, nobody had a camera then they needed it in years past compared to everyone having a camera on their cellphone now and image manipulation yielding lack of belief the image is actual representation, what the heck we are actually talking about as a UAP/UFO, Tom had a UFO experience and still can’t explain the underlying phenomena, Air Force General Hoyt Vandenberg dismantling a UFO investigation program, aircraft fly faster over time, Project SIGN, Project Grudge, North Dakota University Space Science program, war nerves, National Defense Authorization Act funding for investigation,, a 1970s TV show being rebooted, maybe aliens have some sort of advanced technology, whether aliens will take over or not, whether aliens are really a big deal or not, new religions being developed around aliens when they show up, politicians becoming priests to keep their power, guessing that most people would freak out over aliens, not understand why aliens are a big deal, Dungeons and Dragons, sports fans, not Mean Girls, Navy tic tac videos, funding for detection programs, space law coursework, commercial space transport, asteroid mining, detection of potentially earth impacting space objects and funding for such, deflecting space stuff, terraforming, the first space war, aliens not letting us destroy ourselves, the Watchers, Fantastic Four and Uatu on the dark side of the moon, Antarctica is easier to get stuff done on than the moon, humans bombarded by radiation on the moon as ionosphere and magnetosphere not existing on moon, having no desire to go to the moon or Mars, Elon Musk, Tesla (maybe SpaceX) gets there before any US government program, 34 million miles to Mars, whether we could capture a space object like and asteroid to make a space ship instead of bringing up materials from earth to do such, intermediary staging logistics for space travel, everyone going to Mars on the first trip will die, Space Race with the Soviets, and the aliens are here!
