The Interpreter: Sharing a candidate's message w/ the deaf and hard of hearing
Manage episode 311467932 series 3127281
Mona Jean Cedar is a sign language interpreter who works at political events. I met her at a Beto O'Rourke rally in Los Angeles where she was on stage the entire time with the candidate. She interpreted Beto's passionate message for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
I had the pleasure of speaking with her on my stream about her background with American Sign Language (ASL) and what it is like to be on stage with a candidate running for President of the United States of America.
I'm a firm believer that bringing your unique talents to activism can be an amazingly rewarding experience. And hearing Mona Jean share her stories was the affirmation I had always hoped for.
