65: Double Indemnity (1944) and Detour (1945)
Manage episode 289426031 series 2901289
Classic Noir is the theme this week, but it may as well be "duplicitous dames". Matt liked Billy Wilder's "Double Indemnity" (1944) more than Adam, but they both felt the casting of the two main characters (Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck) was wrong. They were in agreement that costar Edward G. Robinson stole the show. "Detour" (1945) cost pennies to make and supposedly shot in 5 days, but M&A agree that it's a can't miss little gem of a film.
Next up, Neo Noir: Thoroughbreds (2017) and The Death of Dick Long (2019).
