The Gap and The Gain
Manage episode 376389696 series 3428836
The Gap and The Gain, by Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan is one of the few books I’ve read more than once. Despite its simplicity, I get something new out of it with each read and it is a great reminder of an important mindset that I always strive to achieve.
The GAP is the trap you fall into when you compare your current life with that of your ideal life or the next thing you are working toward: that income level, that certification, that license, that degree, that lifestyle.
The problem is, when you are constantly comparing your current life with that of your ideal life, you are pursuing happiness without actually ever achieving it.
The mindset change is to compare your current life with your past life.
Look at the GAIN. You have come through challenges and struggles to become the person you are now.
Measure backwards NOT forwards.
Stop pursuing happiness and live happy NOW. Guys, check out the book, I don’t do it justice.
