37. "Are You Seething With Jealousy of Your Peers?"
Manage episode 311446737 series 3123633
There are better morning routines than Googling people you envy and hating yourself as a result. Jealousy is something we have all experienced at one point or another in our lives. But, if it's not healed it can consume you and eventually destroy you.
Fun Facts:
- 80% of people check their phones in the AM. (within 15 minutes of waking up)
- 63% of them check social media at this time
There are better ways to start your morning than bombarding your mind with what other people are doing. Subconsciously you are destroying your confidence, you are comparing and judging instead of focusing on YOUR well-being and on your path in this world.
Focusing too much on your peers forces you to be on the sidelines watching others succeed as you fall behind. It's your own doing. Your investing your time into falling behind whereas your peers are busy living their lives. This all leads to self hate, uncertainty, envy, jealousy, lack of confidence, and procrastination.
By comparing/observing others' way, you loose your way.
VALUBALE TAKEAWAYS:
- What anyone is doing or not doing, how far ahead or behind in life they are, or how great someone's life may be IS YOUR PERCEPTION in comparison to you and your life. I like to call this limited perception. There is an error in your data right from the start and based on this erroneous data you become jealous? You compare? You assume? You get bitter? You judge? You see someone's post or status and assume you know what this person's life is all about? You assume it's better than yours?
- What someone else is doing does not mean you should too. Two people can be in the same predicament, situation or career and it does NOT MEAN either or is right or wrong. You can take a different path as the other person and both still be very successful in your careers.
- Be inspired. Use these moments to be inspired by your peers or motivated by them. Not bitter, jealous or envious of them. See your peers as proof that all that which you desire is possible for you too!
