For this month's clinical corner, Matt and Allie discuss a case study where a Physical Therapist was able to save a life! An 83 year old woman was referred to Physical Therapy by her doctor for back pain radiating into her hip for 2 weeks. After evaluation, and consideration of her health history, the PT requested further imaging of her spine. This then lead to a PET scan which uncovered metastatic disease, masses, nodules and carcinoma. Hear how this strategic decision making and teamwork between her PT and PCP were able to get her back on her feet.
