Maimouna Diakite (My-moo-na) (Ja-key-tae) shares her journey of growth as a woman born with Spina Bifida, who spent her life wheelchair bound. She has experienced bullying, anxiety, depression, and discrimination as a result of her condition. She faced rejections, doubts and even fears. Spent days feeling unpretty but kept dreaming of being a model giving others someone that looks like her in print and on screen. Her desire to push through her obstacles and blaze a path for herself that others will be able to look to and eventually follow is inspiring and powerful.
