Physical Therapist and Founder of HEAL Wellness and Therapy, LLC, Trudy Messer, joins Glenn on the field to discuss the benefits of sleep, the impact sleep has on athletic performance, the required amounts of sleep for active athletes, and how sleep deprivation leads to negative outcomes for athletic performance and overall health. Trudy also explains the role sleep plays with recovery from injury including the capacity to recover from physical stressors such as injury or illness and how proper rest impacts both mental and physical functioning such as the ability to learn new tasks and maintaining reaction time and precision performance.
