Her father, Dr. Jack Cox, practiced dentistry for over 30 years in Lacey, where Dr. Mason helped as an assistant during summers growing up. Dr. Mason completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in biology and minored in chemistry and studio art.
