In this episode, our guest host Kathi Kamleitner speaks to Zahrah Mahmood and Ani Barber about specialist, accessible and inclusive outdoor equipment, starting with a look at the activewear hijab that Zahrah has created with Berghaus. We also talk about the risk of misappropriating an item of religious outdoor equipment, other types of specialist equipment including items to help people pee, toddler carriers for hiking, helpful clothing for difficulties with motor-skills and sun protection.
We opened up this conversation to our listeners with these questions:
- Have you used activewear hijab or modest swimwear?
- Is there any other adaptive or special equipment you’ve used outdoors and what is you experience?
- Is there anything that’s not been made yet that you would like to see?
