Giving Up or Giving Over?
There are moments in life when the weight of our burdens feels too much to carry. When prayers seem unanswered, struggles persist, and exhaustion takes hold, the thought of giving up can creep into our hearts. But as followers of Christ, we are not called to give up—we are called to give over.
Giving up means surrendering to defeat, but giving over means surrendering to God. He invites us to lay our burdens at His feet, trusting that His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). The enemy wants us to believe that we are alone, that our struggles define us, and that we will never overcome. But God reminds us that He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
When you feel like giving up, pause and pray. Hand your fears, failures, and frustrations over to the One who holds the universe in His hands. His plans for you are good, filled with hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Instead of letting go in despair, let go in trust. God is not finished with your story. Keep walking in faith—He is walking with you.
