SZN 2, EP 41. Dr. Melanie McNally on her childhood and how she helps parents raise healthier kids.
Manage episode 421291985 series 3434567
Melanie and I were introduced by the one & only Regan Walsh. (If you haven't listened to Regan's episode yet, you can check her out in SZN 1, EP 32.)
Melanie's resume is impressive. She's a PsyD, clinical psychologist, brain coach, speaker, and author. Her first book, The Emotionally Intelligent Teen: Skills to Help You Deal with What You Feel, Build Stronger Relationships, and Boost Self-Confidence, gives teens and young adults the skills they need to improve their lives. She also has a second book coming out in September of this year.
In this episode, Melanie recounts what it was like growing up with her parents and 3 sisters in Michigan, how she coped with constant anxiety, and ultimately cut ties in order to design a life that she loves with her husband in the UP of Michigan.
This is a great episode and I HIGHLY recommend it (and her books) for anyone out there parenting in this wild world.
Thank you for being so open and vulnerable, Melanie. You're a star! (And thanks again, Regan. ILYSM)
