• One thing I wish I knew earlier is the wisdom of women, especially the woman I’ve been blessed to be with for a very long time. She has a wisdom that comes naturally. As a younger man, I – and other I know – thought that if it’s not logical and well-thought, planned and organised that it can’t be very wise or intelligent. Now this woman says things from her gut and I wonder how she comes up with them and she doesn’t know either!
• Women have an intrinsic way of seeing things that are so far from the thinking of men that it’s almost impossible to believe. But I learned to listen to it and I know it makes sense. The advice she gives me are gold.
• If my partner tells me about a problem or a struggle she’s having I now know that I don’t have to fix it until she asks me to. What should I do? Nothing. I just sit there and listen and hug her if she wants to be hugged, and that’s it. It sounds paradoxical, but it makes me more male and her more female. If I fix it, the whole story becomes male.
