Shona Rose Hind is a mother of two grown up children and the founder and CEO of Free Me, the UAE’s first locally produced mosquito repellent that utilises organic essential oils to create a natural barrier against insects.
Inspired by her father, whose passing in 2016 deeply affected her, Shona left her banking career and invested her gratuity into starting her own business. Shona's passion for creating a natural mosquito repellent was born from personal experience. She and her family had long struggled with mosquito bites, and could never find a repellent that was effective, pleasant-smelling, and free from harmful chemicals. Additionally, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 disrupted many lives both professionally and personally, further motivating Shona to pivot her focus towards exploring and developing her ideas and creating the Free Me Company.
