Anxiety during pregnancy and after childbirth can be very normal for all people, yet when we are neurodivergent, this time can be even more challenging. Support during and after pregnancy is vital to help neurodivergent mothers feel less alone. This week's guest is Victoria White, a birth and postnatal doula who supports families through pregnancy, birth and beyond, bringing hope, compassion and more understanding to this situation.

Victoria White is also one of the contributors to The ADHD Hormone Series, which focuses on hormones and neurodivergent women.

She believes birthing people have the right to a positive birth and postnatal experience and that this can be achieved with the help of consistent and compassionate support. She is also a trained Traumatic Birth Recovery 3 Step Rewind Practitioner and Perinatal Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. She is the mum of two girls, one of whom is autistic, and is passionate about improving support for neurodivergent people perinatally.

In this episode of The ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast, Kate and Victoria talk about:

  • The role of a doula at birth and pre-birth
  • How to find support around your birth
  • The role hormones play in your birth and postnatal time
  • Knowing your choices going into birth
  • Making more informed choices
  • Coping with being undiagnosed when pregnant
  • Navigating anxiety around birth and postnatal life
  • Allowing for differences in your neurodivergent baby's development
  • The positives of neurodivergence and pregnancy
