Books were my salvation as a kid. Therefore, I found it hard and sad my supergirl struggled so much reading. I can’t imagine how hard it must be. What I do know is what a huge impact it has on her daily school life and results, and how important it is to get the right diagnoses and help. Did you know there could be more going on when your kid is struggling with reading, besides ‘just’ dyslexia? My guest Hilary Laxson knows all about the struggles. And took action. In this episode we talk about her and her daughter’s journey.

Besides a mom, Hilary Laxson is an entrepreneur, wife, and paralegal. She started The Dyslexia Life to help active-duty parents navigate the world of Dyslexia in schools all around the world. She is currently the parent volunteer for Decoding Dyslexia Military for Georgia and works with Partners in Promise. She started a group Warrior Parents of Dyslexics to help parents all over the USA. When she is not helping special education parents, she works full time as COO for The True North Consulting which she Co-Founded with her husband, Randy Laxson.
