Dunes in the Dark
Manage episode 352759300 series 2947534
One of the UK's most prominent ultra running events, the Arc of Attrition, is happening in Cornwall on January 27-28th. There are two versions the 100 mile which starts in Coverack and then shares the same last 50 miles with 50 mile version which starts at the Minack Theatre.
The sand dunes at Hayle come into play with around 14 miles to go in both events and at the end of the dunes in the final checkpoint at Godrevy.
My plan is to run the Arc 50 in 2024 so now is a good time of year to practice running the dunes section in the dark, which it inevitably will be when I get there.
So in this episode the Running 44@60 podcast you will hear an edited version of my run in the dark through the dunes with local personal trainer and dunes navigation expert Tracy Waite.
I hope it might be useful for those of you taking part this year who may not have had a chance to practice the section through the dunes.
This is episode 108 of the Running 44@60 podcast. You can access and download the previous 107 episodes via your usual podcast app or follow this link.
